Matt Szymanski (P/K)

Matt is currently an NFL free agent.

Matt transferred to SMU from Texas A&M. His first season to play as a Mustangs was his junior season. He handled all kicking duties for the Mustangs and was 11-of-16 on field goals on the year, hitting a long of 53 yards in the season opener. Matt averaged 41.9 yards on 70 punts and posted 15 touchbacks on 72 kickoffs. He was 6-of-6 on PATs in SMU’s historic Hawaii Bowl win.
During his senior season, Matt made 7 of 12 FG’s, and was a perfect 32-32 for extra points. His longest FG of the season was 61 yards.
Matt was promoted to the Kansas City Chiefs active roster after a short stint on the practice squad. He was waived by the team, late March.

He was signed to the Miami Dolphins on April 22, 2014 and waived on May 14, 2014.
