Cole Beasley was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a UDFA in 2012. He is currently a WR for the Cowboys.
Cole played in 11 games, starting seven as a freshman at SMU. He ranked third on the team with 42 catches, 366 yards receiving and three scores. As a sophomore, he played in 12 games, starting seven. Cole ranked fourth on the team in catches (40), yards (493) and touchdowns (3). His regular-season-long TD catch of 49 yards helped SMU to a road win at Tulsa. He hauled in a 71 yard pass on the opening drive of SMU’s Hawaii Bowl win over Nevada that set the tone for the entire game. He also toed the sideline for an acrobatic TD catch in the win over the Wolf Pack. Cole caught a TD pass with 11 seconds left in the first half of SMU’s win at UAB, as the Mustangs snapped a 17-game Conference USA losing streak and a 15-game road losing streak.
During his junior season, Cole started all 14 games at receiver. He was named Second Team All-Conference USA and totaled 1,060 receiving yards, the fourth highest single-season total, and six touchdowns on the season. Cole caught 87 passes, which ranks second for a single-season in program history. He had a punt and kickoff return and started the season off with two touchdown catches at Texas Tech. Cole teamed with Aldrick Robinson to produce school single-season tandem records 2,361 yards and 165 catches.
Cole was signed to the 53-man roster for the Cowboys for the 2012 season. In the second preseason game, he caught 7 passes for 104 yards. In the eleventh regular season game against the Washington Redskins, he caught 7 passes for 68 yards, while being targeted 13 times. During the final game of the 2012 regular season, Cole left the game with a shoulder injury. He is out 4-6 weeks of the off season to rehab.
