Sports are my life. SMU is my passion. Football is my religion. Mustangs in the Pros. Here's the 411!
Taylor was drafted by the Titans in the fifth round (pick 145 overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. He currently plays for the Titans.
As a sophomore defensive lineman at SMU, Taylor was named honorable mention All-C-USA by the league’s coaches. He started all 13 games, had 40 tackles and a team-high 5.5 sacks on the year. Taylor had perhaps his biggest play of the season when he sacked UTEP quarterback Trevor Vittatoe to end the final Miner scoring threat and clinch an SMU win and first bowl berth in 25 years. He had a season-high seven tackles at Houston, blocked a PAT in the UAB win, a block which forced UAB to go for a two-point conversion at the end of the game – a conversion SMU stopped – as the Mustangs snapped a 17-game Conference USA losing streak and a 15-game road losing streak.
Taylor started in all 14 games at defensive end as a junior and was named First Team Conference USA. He posted 32 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 4.5 sacks and three QB hurries on the season.
Taylor started every game his senior season and was a first-team All-Conference USA selection.
He currently plays tight end for the Tennessee Titans–a drastic change from his days as a defensive end at SMU.
